Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson who were both lawyers. After moving to Oxfordshire at the age of five, Emma enrolled at The Dragon School. Emma decided to be an actor when she was six. For several years she was enrolled in the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. In the school, she was taught singing as well as dancing, and also acting. She had already performed in a variety of Stagecoach or school shows before she turned ten. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the movie version of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British novel began casting in 1999. Emma was spotted by Emma's Oxford Theatre teacher. David Heyman informed Emma, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint after 8 auditions. They were selected as three leads Hermione Gringer Harry Potter Ron Weasley. The release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's debut on the screen in cinema.
